Development
Services: Adding
Functionality: Bringing LIFE
to Your Website
Adventures Online has developed multiple "interactive"
modules that allow businesses to better communicate with
their target audience. See below for descriptions of some
of the projects.
We specialize in PHP programming and MySQL databases. In addition to custom programming efforts, Adventures Online has customized open
source products like osCommerce (open
source eCommerce solution), phpAdsNew (open
source Ad Management solution), and WordPress® Blogs for many clients. We have
interfaced osCommerce and custom-developed order forms with
payment gateways like AuthorizeNet®.
Sampling of Custom Developed Modules
Calare Properties, Inc.
Calare Properties is a Massachusetts-based real estate investment manager. Its portfolio of properties displays on the website. Adventures Online developed a maintenance module that enables Calare to keep the list of properties and descriptions of individual properties up to date. The properties section of their website is dynamically generated so that updates are immediately visible. View the portfolio of properties.
Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, Worldwide Organization
Adventures Online partnered with Circle Graphics
to bring life to the Reflections section
of the website. Each week the gospel is added and a sister
writes her thoughts (reflections) about the gospel verse. Adventures
Online used PHP to program a user-friendly maintenance
module that allows the sisters to add the gospel, the reflection,
a bio of the sister, and upload a photo of the sister. The
Reflections
pages are dynamically generated each time they are viewed.

Prescott
Farms, Bedford, MA
Adventures Online
partnered with Circle Graphics to bring life to the
Prescott
Farms Site Plan. Although the plan is a simple drawing,
there is highly complex logic behind the scenes. The first
tier ensures that the appropriate status (color indicated)
displays for each lot. The second tier enables prospective
buyers to view detailed information like house styles,
floor plans, and pricing about each lot. The site plan was
written in PHP and is driven by a MySQL database. The exclusive
sales reps, Steve
McKenna and the Home Advantage Team use two password-protected,
spreadsheet-like programs to keep the information about each
lot up to date. This is an ideal application for high-end real
estate agents with exclusive agreements on new home developments! Try
it out.
WAC Consulting, Northborough, MA
Adventures Online partnered with Turfbuilder Marketing to bring life to this website re-design. This client's seminar schedule requires weekly updates. Adventures Online used PHP and MySQL to create a maintenance
module that enables the client to update its seminar schedule,
and add, delete, and update seminar descriptions on demand. Try
it out!
American Society of Home Inspectors,
New England Chapter (ASHINE), Concord, NH
Find a local Home Inspector. Visitors can search
by zip code, city & state, state, inspector's business
name, and inspector's last name. The number of home inspectors
displayed can be manipulated by changing the radius of the
search. This module combines a US zip code database (commercially
available) and the ASHINE membership information to display
the results. PHP and MySQL were used. Try
it out!
Personal Best Personal Training, Marlborough,
MA
This is a dynamic website that responds differently depending
on the audience and that helps the owner manage a segment
of her business. Adventures Online used PHP and two MySQL
databases to drive the functionality of the site. Members
use the interactive members-only module to access special
articles and the encyclopedia of exercises, download fitness
programs, enter food and exercise journals, and more. Take
a peek at the public
area.
Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce,
Marlborough, MA
The Chamber wanted to display the membership list in small,
discrete packages. Adventures Online used PHP to interface
with a MySQL database to group, retrieve and display information
about Chamber members. Try
it out! Also, there is an Maintenance Module
which the Chamber uses to maintain its Calendar of Events.
The Calendar is dynamically generated from a database each
time it is viewed. Take
a look! |
